Approximately 4' long, the hive is made of white pine. The roof top is gabled, well supported and covered with white aluminum. A follower board is included to help control the space that the colony uses. Also included are 14 brood top bars that are 19"x1 3/8" thick, and 14 top bars that are 19"x1 5/8" thick that are used as the honey production bars.
One of the outstanding features, that puts us ahead of the rest, is a heavy duty, screened bottom board that runs the entire length of the hive. This bottom board add all important ventilation, as well as mite control. The inclusion of a white mite tray allows for ease in mite counts.
