2012 Spring Beekeeping Classes

NEW 2012 CLASS SCHEDULE!
Beginning Beekeeping Class
There will be five (5) opportunites to attend our Beginning Beekeeping Class.
The class is scheduled on the following Saturdays:
January 14th -- FULL February 4th -- FULL February 18th --FULL
March 10th -- ONLY 2 SPOTS LEFT!! March 17th
The classes will begin at 9:00 am and last until approximately 5:00 pm.
This class will focus on subjects that are unigue to the Beginning Beekeeper. Subjects will include Introduction to Beekeeping; Honey Bee Biology; Equpment; Installing your Bees; A Year of Hive Management; and Pests. A CD of these subjects will be provided and will include additional information to enhance your learning experience: History of the Honey Bee, Africanized Honey Bees, Local Pollen & Nectar Sources
In addition to providing a class CD and class workbook, registration will include a morning snack and lunch. The registration fee for the class is $75.00. Contact vabeeclass@aol.com for registration.
Intermediate Beekeeping Class
There will be four (4) opportunites to attend our Intermediate Beekeeping Class.
The class will be held on the following Saturdays:
January 21st -- FULL January 28th -- FULL February 11th -- FULL
February 25th --FULL
The classes will begin at 9:00 am and last until approximately 5:00 pm.
This class will focus on subjects that are important to the Intermediate or "Second Year" Beekeeper. Sujects will include Spring & Fall Management Practices; Honey Production & Extracting; Increasing Your Apiary; Splits; Requeening; Swarm Control
In addition to providing a class CD and class workbook, registration will include a morning snack & lunch. The registration fee for the class is $75.00. Contact vabeeclass@aol.com for registration.

In order to provide our students with an effective learning environment, classes will be kept to small groups. Be sure to register as soon as possible for the date you require, but be sure to have a second date available in case your first choice has already filled.
